The Adidas ZX 8000 shoes feature an upper made from a combination of durable textile, premium leather, and hairy suede. They are further complemented by both decorative and functional rubber and plastic elements. The tongue is thin and lightly padded. The heel is firmly locked in place thanks to a TPU Heel Counter reinforcement. Embedded in the midsole is the Torsion system, a lightweight thermoplastic arch that connects the heel and forefoot to reduce torsional stress. The entire midsole is crafted from super-soft EVA foam, which absorbs impact during stride. Additionally, a Soft Cell cushioning unit is built into the heel area to maximize energy absorption upon heel strike. The outsole features a textured retro tread pattern with excellent grip.

The sides feature the iconic three stripes. The tongue is decorated with a patch featuring a large Trefoil and the Adidas branding.

Constructed using Cold Cement technology, a modern manufacturing method where the shoe upper is bonded to the sole using adhesive at a low temperature. This technology allows the use of modern, lightweight, and responsive materials that would be damaged by high heat, while preserving the elasticity of the foams and the long-term durability of the bonds.
